Mount Magica is a farmhouse located in Tatisilwai, about 25 kilometres away from the Capital of Jharkhand, Ranchi. I came to know of this place from a few of my friends last year and was thinking of visiting there since then. It’s a picnic resort with arrangements for the guests for the entire day and they serve breakfast, lunch, and evening snacks. I was told that it’s a gem in the heart of Ranchi, hidden away in nature. However, we all got busy with my wedding and the preparation, so we couldn’t make it there before.
Gungun, my sister-in-law, came to see my wife, Tania and stayed with us for a fortnight. Since she was here we planned that we should check out the place, Mount Magica, and hence we planned to head out on Sunday, 26 June 2022.
On Saturday, I called the Manager of Mount Magica and confirmed our booking. The next day we woke up early to be ready by 10:30 A.M. to leave for our destination. It was a nearly 2-hour drive. My mom, Rajanth uncle, Gudiya mausi and her daughter, and Gungun went by our car Maruti Ciaz, while Tania and I left on my Bullet motorcycle.
The road was mostly good except for a kilometre just before reaching the spot, it was off-road. The drive to the spot was entertaining and fun. The manager greeted us at the parking place and guided us towards their resort huts. The place is pretty and has an actual rural touch to it for experiencing village hospitality with a modern twist.
As one would enter the campus it had multiple different settings for different sized groups. As we were a group of seven, we were guided toward our seating area.

Soon, we were served with plates of Chicken Chilly and Paneer Chilly with a cup of tea and coffee. The breakfast was delicious.

After the delicious snacks, we played carrom and badminton which were provided by them in-house, as a part of daily activities. They even had a closed net for playing cricket. We had a lot of fun playing there for a long time until the afternoon.

At around 3:00 PM, lunch was served, which consisted of rice, roti, chicken, mixed vegetables, and daal. The food was cooked in a homely style with less oil and spices. The chef was very good at it, indeed. After lunch, we had a stroll around nearby and then returned to play carrom again with an uncle from another group.

Before we could realize it, it was 5:00 P.M. We were then served tea, coffee and hot pakoras as our evening snacks. After relishing our snacks, we left for our home.

Overall it was a fun and entertaining experience. The resort charged us on a per-head basis for the entire package and it was all worth it. It is a great getaway for a day near Ranchi where you don’t need to bring anything for a picnic, rather just reach the spot and enjoy the nature, surroundings and in-house games.

It was a memorable day and we all loved and really enjoyed the Sunday outing.
Nice day out. Great fun!
